A vow renewal doesn't need a milestone anniversary as an excuse. Any year is the right year to tell your spouse, out loud and in front of the people who love you both, that you'd choose them again.
Keep it as simple or elaborate as feels right. A meaningful location — where you married, your backyard, somewhere new entirely — matters more than the size of the guest list. Writing your own vows, drawing on what you've actually learned together, tends to mean far more than repeating the original words.
Any year will do.
It doesn't need to be fancy or planned years ahead. It just needs doing.
